The CT4-V Blackwing, with its powerhouse Twin-Turbo 3.6L V6 putting down a jaw dropping 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. On the other side we have the new Acura Integra Type S, featuring the companies potent K20C1 engine; this little guy is a punchy turbocharged 2.0L inline-four cylinder engine, putting down 320 horsepower and 310 pout-feet of torque. So why are we even comparing these? Well…there is more than meets the eye.
In a world where internal combustion engines are withering away, it’s becoming harder and harder to find an enthusiast level vehicle with a proper manual transmission. Throw in 4 doors and touch of luxury, and you’re honestly not left with much.
Then Cadillac and Acura step up to the plate, and deliver a final farewell gift to all of us. The CT4-V Blackwing and Integra Type S, bring luxury level comfort, with an engaging 6 speed manual transmission. One is rear wheel drive, and the other is front wheel drive with a tad less power. Price on the other hand, is surprisingly similar (especially after the crazy dealer mark ups that are found on the new Acura Integra Type S).
By now you can probably see why we’ve decide to compare these 2 vehicles. On the surface, they don’t seem to be cross-shopped…but after the typical $10k markup on the Integra Type S; you’re sitting right around CT4-V Blackwing MSRP.
With all these dealers marking up the Type S such a crazy amount, the CT4-V Blackwing is really starting to grab my attention. Can’t deny you’re getting a lot more power and luxury out of it as well.
