As you can see, there is more than meets the eye between the base CT4-V vs the Blackwing trim. Cadillac created their Blackwing line with track driven performance in mind. It’s your “hit the track on the weekend”, but also “pick up your kids from soccer practice”, “go the grocery store”, “take the family for a trip”, and “enjoy every backroad” type of car. Where the base CT4-V lacks in the overall track driven performance nature; it’s more focused on your typical luxury sedan.

The Blackwing stands out by having 472hp vs the base 325hp, thanks to a potent 3.6L Twin-Turbocharged V6. Knocking off almost a full second from 0-60mph, and gaining a whopping 30mph+ on the top speed.

Let’s not forget the CT4-V Blackwing comes with an available 6 speed manual transmission. The normal CT4-V does not, as that is only available in a 10-speed automatic. Another nod to the track enthusiast. Cadillac uses the Tremec 6060 Transmission which is robust and will take the abuse.

Did we mention that the Blackwing also comes from the factory with No-Lift-Shit, Launch Control, and Rev-Matching? The Tremec 6060 transmission is rated at up to 600 lb. ft. of torque. With the Blackwing producing 445 lb. ft. of torque from the factory, this means you tuner folks can bolt-on some parts, crank up the boost, and that Tremec 6060 should withstand it no problem!  The Manual also gets Titanium connecting rods.

There are some common features between both the CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing. Both are available with Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo Brakes, and a Heads-Up Display. So don’t disregard the CT4-V just yet!

But if you’re looking for the ultimate in performance and driver engagement, then the CT4-V Blackwing is a no brainer. Yes it starts at just over $14,000 more, but you’re honestly getting your monies worth with this. The increase in power from the twin-turbocharged engine, all the extra features like multiple driving mods, active exhaust, an optional Performance Data Recorder, AKG 15-Speaker Premium Sound System, more aggressive styling, an available 6 speed manual transmission, and much more.

We can’t make the decision for you, and it really comes down to if you’re just looking for a cruiser, or something with a little more spunk to it. But over here at Cadillac Connected, we would choose the CT4-V Blackwing 10 out of 10 times. Which would you choose and why? Drop a comment below and let us know!
