Cadillac is leaving the internal combustion engine world with a bang! When it comes to RWD Luxury Sedans with a manual transmission, there are only 3 left on the market, and Cadillac makes 2 of them. Today we are going to compare those 2, with the CT4-V Blackwing, and it’s bigger brother, the CT5-V Blackwing.

Both of these Blackwing models are potent track weapons. Yet they are still docile enough to cater to your daily driving needs, family trips and more. They are a rare breed, that can do it all, and do it all PROPERLY! Let’s be real, there are cheaper alternatives when it comes to “track focused” cars, but with most, you lose practicality. Cadillac has produced a car that everyone can enjoy, whether it be on track, driving to work, taking a long road trip, or just hitting the backroads to clear your mind.

Let’s dive deeper into the specs below for each, and see which one better suits your needs.

Both the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing provides blistering performance. Both are available in a 6 speed manual transmission or in a 10 speed automatic. They offer a true performance luxury sedan experience in a dying industry.

The question lingers, is the $32,000 price jump between the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing worth it though? To some it might be, the scream of that Supercharged V8 is untouchable. You do get a much more spacious interior. The CT5-V is about 7” longer and 3” wider. It offers a more passenger friendly rear seating area.

Performance wise, you’re not getting a ton more, at least not $32,000 more in our eyes. 0-60mph are both in the 3’s which is impressive (it should be said; you’ll have to get it just right to get the CT4-V Blackwing in the 3’s). You’re paying more for the engine, and larger overall vehicle in general. Of course the CT5-V Blackwing weights more, but surprisingly not by much, coming in at only 263lbs more than the CT4-V Blackwing (manual transmission trim).

Power does see a noticeable bump, where the CT4-V BW Twin-Turbocharged V6 is at 472 hp and 445 lb. ft. torque, the CT5-V BW Supercharged V8 dominates at 668hp and 659 lb. ft. torque. On track, those extra power figures, are sure to be noticed.

If you’re thinking of picking one of these up, now is the time! These are Cadillacs gift to us car enthusiasts before things move to fully electric. Value should hold well over time, being the last of a dying breed. Regardless, these are true performance luxury sedans that are meant to be driven hard! You are rewarded when you push these cars as they come with a variety of driving modes to cater to any situation and skill level.

As to which model is best for you; well hopefully this short article and comparison breakdown can help make your decision. Be sure to drop a comment below with which one you would pick!
